Myths
Our final ELA unit covers myths, specifically in the form of plays. So this week we spent lots of time learning about how to read a play, including how stage directions help us navigate what is happening in the text. Common myths covered this week were the stories of King Midas, Pandora, and Hercules.

In addition our regular academic day, we found some time for some fun Disney themed activities including Disney coloring pages, Aladdin memory games, Disney-themed movement breaks, and identifying the Disney movie from sets of emojis. And of course, we watched a classic Disney movie... Mulan!
C is for Culture Day
Our students did a great job sharing about their heritage and cultures this week. Everyone's presentation was unique and we learned a lot about our classmates as well as different cultures and countries.

Today we played a much loved game- Kahoot! Students raced to quickly identify some famous book characters!
A is for Aloha Day
Tropical Scavenger Hunt
Each team of students searched the room for their specific scavenger hunt pieces. Some of them were hiding is some very... surprising.... places. The team that had the most pieces won a fabulous prize!

Mystery Quadrilateral Game
Today we played "Mystery Quadrilateral" - a game in which one partner secretly chooses a card with a shape and the other partner asks "yes" or "no" questions about its attributes. After 5 questions, they can make their guess on which shape their partner chose. Once the shape was identified, they discussed which questions helped them narrow down their search and then they switched jobs.
This was a great way for us to practice identifying and using the attributes of shapes!

Popsicles
For bringing in the most items in the food drive, our class earned a popsicle treat. Today's warm weather made it seem like the perfect day to cash in this reward!
