JFK Jargon
We use many specialized words and phrases at the JFK. Here are some explanations and definitions to help explain our specialized vocabulary.
PawPaw prints are earned by classes or individual students for walking quietly in the hallway. There are a specific set on hallway rules (A Kennedy Cougar WALKS) that the students are expected to follow. When a teacher or staff member notices students following these rules, the class or student is rewarded with a paw print. Each classroom collects these paws on their door. When a room earns twenty paw prints, they turn them in for a glitter paw. (see below)

Kenny DKenny D is our school mascot. When a classroom earns a glitter paw and their special reward, they also earn a class visit from Kenny D. The students love to spend time with our stuffed mascot and hopefully we will see a lot of him this year. Depending on the special event we have, Kenny D may even come dressed up to celebrate with us!

Shine Ticket
Shine tickets are awarded to individual students for following the school rules (A Kennedy Cougar CARES). Students can earn a shine ticket from any staff member at any time of the day. When a student earns a shine ticket, it is placed in a large bucket in the office. Each Friday, a handful of shine tickets will be randomly selected and those people will win a special prize from Mr. Rogan's prize box!
